GIVING A NEW LEASE OF LIFE
TO PIECES OF THE PAST
Clementene was born and bred in Yorkshire, which is where she lives today with her husband Pete and their two beloved greyhounds Oscar and Aoife.
A life-long creative and passionate about hand painted furniture and interior design, Clementene left a successful career in the law to pursue her dream of starting a business selling her beautiful, bespoke upcycled hand painted antique and vintage furniture.
Having a BA (Honours Degree) in Classical Greek and Roman Art & Architecture, Clementene understands the history of art and the rich diversity of the many designs which have stood the test of time. She draws her influences from many of the classic period styles, whether it be the eclectic Edwardian and Victorian era of design; the exuberant Italian Baroque and French Rococo styles; the elegant, clean and understated Scandinavian look; to the quirky, retro vibe.
Clementene uses her skills and artistry to create stunning, unique pieces of furniture. Despite this being only a young business, Clementene has already completed a number of impressive commissions. Her work and her enthusiasm for her craft has attracted the attention of top interior designers, including the likes of Great British Interior Design Challenge Judge, Sophie Robinson. A recent collaboration with another noted interior designer led to Clementene’s work being exhibited at Decorex International 2015 in London. This and an invitation to Downing Street to showcase her work to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, has sealed her status as a front-runner in the world of hand painted furniture.
Her devotion to an eco-friendly approach to interior design has led to Clementene being invited to be a regular Features Writer for the acclaimed publication Country Living Magazine UK. She is also Guest Speaker at the Country Living Magazine Fairs and can be seen giving talks and painting furniture live in front of large audiences.
