Clementene's client had a bespoke wardrobe made and painted for her large bedroom, but she hated the final

finish (which she thought looked like a giant fondant fancy!). She called upon Clementene to transform the wardrobe into an authentic looking, Baroque French-style rustic armoire. Clementene lightly sanded, primed and painted the piece using a specialist artistic waterbased chalk paint in a French linen colour on the outside and a deep purple on the inside. She used her signature brush technique to add texture and tone to the paintwork and she applied a paint-wash and a hand-mixed antique wax glaze to create a cloud-like effect and naturally aged patina. She sealed the piece with

clear wax before adding gold leaf gilding to the details.
